Dear Readers and Friends,

I have returned home from a weekend-tour of the Northeast. I slept in Melissa Leo's house last night. Google her. How? Why? I can't tell you.

I'm feeling: lost and unsettled. Why? The job-hunting process is exactly as tedious as I thought it would be! I DO hope someone recognizes my invaluable talent and skills and decides to take me onto their team and provide me with a both lucrative and also intellectually stimulating experience (in other words, a job).

While I am at home, I am sometimes led to feel neurotic and insecure about MY ENTIRE LIFE. I am trying to take action to change these things. Suggestions?

Back to the job search.

xo
Jackie

I caught a cold/some terrible stomach ailment in the airport in Rome and am still getting over it, but I think I'll be okay.

I'm not searching for jobs in NYC anymore, but instead Albany. Ben, you'd BETTER COME HOME SOON OR ELSE I'M GON' LOSE IT. YOU HEAR ME?

I discovered that I can buy an entire TV series from itunes for only $24.99.
Dear Readers and Friends,

My, it's been a long time since I've posted--almost a year! Not much has changed, except that I can drive in Mass. now. I still wear my red hoodie far too much and I also need a haircut.

HOWEVER, MOM, I AM GOING TO GRADUATE! Next Saturday! After that, I'm going to England! With Chris! After that I am applying for jobs! In New Pork City! However, the pressure isn't on to do this until fall. I'll be in Albs for a while, and also GB. Vermont, too. Maybe LA for a bit.

I haven't eaten at Taco Bell for at least six months.

I got a tattoo of an anchor one night in New Orleans while I was drunk. Do I regret it? Only sometimes, but mostly I'm still glad to have it.

I wear a headband everyday (this is since yesterday) that says "Martial Arts" on it.

I'm happier now than I was when I last posted, I think.

Tonight for dinner I had a cheeseburger and fries. I'm home for the summer and hoping DESPERATELY do adopt a healthier lifestyle, if only for the fact that I don't want to have a heart attack before I'm 22. Home is fine--it's far more comfortable than Hill House. I start my internship on Monday and already have a front page piece coming out in next Sunday's paper, and I'm also starting my column right away. I hope they don't fire me when they see how DISGUSTING i've become since last summer. All I have to do is finish my incomplete and I can say goodbye to last semester, FINALLY. <lj:music>Brand New Key by MELANIE</lj:music>

I almost died tonight. I went to Ali's house and she and her delinquent friends pulled out a bowl and lit up. We all know that I am more responsible than anyone on the planet, so I only took one hit. Ali lives in a field and her driveway is long and hard to back out of. It was also dark and raining tonight. There are also many deer in her neighborhood. I thought about driving home and realized that, sober or not, I would probably hit a lot of trees on her property and some deer, too. However, whether I was sober or not, I would probably hit less of nature if I was sober. I was driving home and THANKFULLY there was another car coming in the opposite direction on this deserted road. It flashed its lights at me and I was like, "Huh?" and then I noticed some deer crossing right in front of me and slammed on the breaks and felt grateful for the SUV. I then proceeded to pop in the Boogie Nights soundtrack which I had just gotten back from Ali--she had it all freakin' semester.

I am glad that I didn't hit the deer for several reasons:
1. I am glad that my car is still in one piece.
2. I am glad that I am alive.
3. I would be so sad if I killed deer.
4. It wouldn't be fun to be injured.
5. I just got the Boogie Nights soundtrack back. I had missed it so much. It's one of my favorite albums. If I hit those deer before I put it into the CD player, I probably wouldn't have been able to listen to it.
6. I look forward to drinking Texas Sized Margaritas on Saturday. A car accident might have stopped
that.

This list is not in order of importance.

Jamie bought me the OC Season 1 on DVD today! What a bud! For serious, he's a BUD. Wow. What a sweetheart. Greatest gift besides the OC Season 2 OR every After School Special ever released on DVD in a cardboard school bus. Or ripping off the people at Target and buying Kill Bill 1 AND 2 for $15.00. Yes, I have done well this week, I have done well indeed. I feel complete for the moment. Let us see what tomorrow brings.

The OC Season 1: Now whenever we're stuck in cold, gloomy, miserable GB and we want some sunshine, we can follow the lives of our favorite contemporary soap-opera stars up until the end of the second season in sunny, beautiful California. It might make things worse, but hopefully it'll just make us feel better. Seasonal depression? Seasonal what?

Shopping in NY tomorrow with mom--everyone pray that I get a lot of nice clothes. We all know that I DESPERATELY NEED A NEW WARDROBE.

vs.

Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukah! Today at the nursing home, I was standing between my brother and my grandfather. An old lady in a wheelchair comes up and asks which one is my boyfriend--I tell her neither one, that we're all related--one is my brother, the other is my grandfather. She doesn't believe me. This is creepy on so many levels. I finally decide to go along with it andI tell her that my grandfather is my boyfriend. A few minutes later we're all saying goodbye and hugging my grandfather and she asks for a hug, too--we thought that this was sweet, but really, she was just going after my brother. He leaned down to hug her and she says, "I want a kiss from this one, too!" Oh man.

sooo I've been kicked out of my room but have my very own air mattress to sleep on! they bought me the fanciest one at bed, bath and beyond--it even comes with a "pillow top," which is really a fuzzy layer of polyester. I love polyester. I love my air mattress. TONIGHT, I think that I might set up camp in the kitchen.

In other news, I slept a lot on my air mattress today but now my back hurts a lot.

Tomorrow is both Christmas and Hanukah. I think that we will eat more chinese food.

I am leaving Albany for NYC on Thursday and am staying there until I feel like coming back to Albany, which won't happen, so if you're in Albany and you feel like seeing me, make it soon.

Air mattresses that are more fun than mine:

This one's fancy and I don't think the other one qualifies, but it was ugly enough to make it onto this post:

This is what I get to sleep on, only she looks happier about it:
